At a recent conference that Mike and Monica attended on sex trafficking, an investigator from a trafficking task force shared that there is a book that sex traffickers use called, “The Art of Seduction” by Robert Greene. On the streets, it is often referred to as, “The Sex

Trafficker’s Bible.”

The book, which is disparaging, explores the psychological nuances of attraction, manipulation, and persuasion. The book reveals the strategies and tactics of seducers throughout history. It explains why seduction originates in the human mind and how the most successful seducers know this very well. It also explains strategies for creating excitement, disorienting audiences, igniting passion, and stimulating emotions.

Traffickers know this book well! Many copies have been confiscated during raids. According to rescued survivors, they were also required to know the book well to seduce their customers! Additionally, during Monica’s time at the jail, she was often asked by inmates if she could get the book or if she had it in the jail’s mental health lending library. It wasn’t until she attended the conference and learned about the book that she realized the

scope of the problem. Should it be shocking that the United States is one of the biggest consumers of child sex?

We are a firm believer that there is power in knowledge! Know your enemy and their tactics! It is important for people to know how Satan uses this book to destroy the lives of so many!

Sex trafficking is a serious issue, and recognizing the signs can help protect potential victims. Here are some common indicators:

Reluctance to engage in conversation: They might avoid eye contact and be hesitant to talk about their situation.

Signs of physical abuse: Unexplained bruises, cuts, or other injuries.

Work and Living Conditions

Restricted freedom: Victims may not be allowed to come and go as they wish.

Living at the workplace: They might live where they work or be transported by guards between home and workplace.

High security measures: Their living or working locations might have high security measures like barbed wire, security cameras, or bars on the windows.

Financial and Social Indicators

Owing a large debt: They might owe a large debt and be unable to pay it off.

Lack of personal possessions: They may have few personal belongings and no control over their own money.

Isolation: Victims might be isolated from friends, family, and the community.

Recruitment and Control Tactics

False promises: Traffickers often lure victims with false promises of good jobs, romantic relationships, and a better life.

Manipulation and threats: They use coercion, manipulation, and threats of violence to control their victims.

If you suspect someone is a victim of sex trafficking, it’s important to report it to the authorities or contact the

National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.

S.O.S. Hand Signal for Help

Know and watch for the S.O.S. signal from someone being trafficked. It is a hand up, with the palm extended and the thumb tucked inside. The fingers are then folded over the thumb (see graphic).

If you see a person do this anywhere, please notify law enforcement or

contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.
